USA Fencing Membership

USA Fencing Membership is required for participation in all AFAD (American Fencing Academy of Dayton) activities.  You can sign up on line, or first day of class.  Minors will need parents signature.  Forms must be completed prior to participating in activities.  Membership run from August 1st thru July 31st.

We prefer if you can sign up online ahead of time with usafencing.org, we recommend the ‘trial’ membership which is free for 90 days, then it must be upgraded to ‘Access’ $29 or higher.  Renewing fencers must do the ‘Access’ membership or higher.  When filling out our division is ‘SWOH’ or South West Ohio.  Our club is ‘AFAD’ or American Fencing Academy of Dayton. Please bring proof of completing the membership.

If the fencer is a minor make sure a parent or guardian signs the forms ahead of time or is present the first day of class.

Competitive Membership

The below links may be out of date but the information should still be relavent....

Competitive Membership is required for most fencing Tournaments.  You can upgrade from a non-competitive to a competitive member at any time.

As a Competitive member you will receive a USFA membership number, and a card will be mailed to you.  You may be required to show proof of active membership when registering for a tournament.  Be sure to print your temporary membership card and bring it with you to fencing activities if you joined online.

If you filled out a paper USFA membership form with us you probably have a start on a profile, with the fencers name and email address that you provided on the USFA form.  Use that name and email to complete a profile with a password.

You can create a profile, and manage your membership online including upgrading your membership, printing a temporary membership card and more at:

You can check membership status online at:

At the bottom of the page you can search by last name.

Once you have a USFA competitive membership you should also create an askfred membership on www.askfred.net to use to preregister for tournaments.
